12 players vie for YEO’S People’s Choice Award

SINGAPORE, 12 October 2008: Voting for YEO’S People’s Choice Award will commence on Monday 13 October and run till 14 November as fans get a chance to vote for their outstanding player of the 2008 NTUC Income – YEO’S S.League season.

Each S.League club has nominated a player for his outstanding contribution to the game on and off the pitch this season with the 12 players vying for the only award to be entirely decided by the fans.

The respective leading scorers at Super Reds and Home United, Oh Ddog Yi and Kengne Ludovick, are among the nominees, alongside talismanic figures such as SAFFC’s Kenji Arai, Singapore and Tampines midfield enforcer Fahrudin Mustafic as well as Albirex skipper Takatoshi Uchida.

The 2007 YEO’S People’s Choice Award was won by Aleksandar Duric after his phenomenal season where he helped the Warriors to the double and scored 48 goals in all competitions.

The YEO’S People’s Choice Award will be determined entirely by public votes. The public can log onto www.sleague.com from 13 October to 14 November and start voting for their exceptional player of the season.

A lucky draw will be held for those who vote in the winner of the YEO’S People’s Choice Award and one lucky winner will walk away with a cash prize of S$500.00.

The winner of the YEO’S People’s Choice Award will be announced during the 13th NTUC Income – YEO’S S.League Awards Night 2008 on 18 November.

This contest is open to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents*.
